Lord Neuberger the President of The Supreme Court, who is currently hearing the government’s article 50 appeal, on a recent visit to Derby University.
There are many popular stereotypes banded around in the media, perhaps needless to say these narratives are completely at odds with my recent experience photographing Lord Neuberger. The Supreme Court Judge spoke of compassion, balance and of responsibility on a human level. He had the most remarkable mind and I remember thinking I was listening to the sporting equivalent of a gold medalist at their peak or maybe a Ronaldo or Messi.
His rationality, measured and considered thinking provided a sobering contrast to the rhetoric of the populist political and opportunistic leaders proclaiming to be 'champions of the forgotten'.
