I recently had the privilege of photographing Olympic triathlete Alex Yee and double Paralympic champion Libby Clegg at Loughborough University during a National Lottery podcast interview with Sam Quek. I often shoot live sports events however this was a little different.
Despite watching Alex dominate at the Olympics and World Championships, I didn’t recognise him immediately. I had expected to be photographing up-and-coming student athletes, and I might have skimmed my brief a little too quickly!
Arriving early, I struck up a conversation with Alex, chatting about triathlons, my experience in the sport, and how much I enjoyed watching the recent World Championships. Alex was incredibly friendly and engaging, and after a few minutes, he casually mentioned that he was at that very event. It was at that moment I realised—I was speaking to Alex Yee himself!
We shared a laugh about my slow realisation and got on with the shoot. What stood out to me was just how down to earth and professional Alex, and Libby Clegg are. Their dedication, focus, and energy are exactly what makes sports event photography so exciting.
As a professional sports photographer and as a corporate event photographer my goal is to capture the defining moments—whether it's the thrill of competition, the interaction between athletes, or the emotion of the game. Whether it's elite-level events or corporate sponsored sports events, I specialise in delivering dynamic, high-impact imagery that tells the story of every race, match, and competition.
If you're looking for a sports event photographer who understands the pace, energy, and precision needed to capture elite athletes, let's work together to bring your event to life.
