Matthew Jones Photography provides commercial photography throughout the United Kingdom. We specialise in Industrial Photography and provide drone photography within the cost of a shoot. These are photographs from a very cold and windy winter photography shoot on a Very Light Railway, in the town of Dudley, located in the West Midlands. The site is located next to the Black Country museum which is great day out.
This shoot was a couple of weeks after a location shoot in Northumberland. Location photography in the winter provides a range of challenges. The weather is often very changeable and we experienced rain, sleet, sun and cloud almost every hour. Matthew used portable battery powered lighting to provide continuity and to make the images pop a little bit. Using lighting on an Industrial photography shoot can often cause hi vis to look bleached out and reflective strips to be overpowering so care and careful placing is necessary.
The first thing to think about is what do you need? Do you need photography for a new website, brosure, PR or a combination, maybe you would like to create a library of images to use as a marketing assent for the next few years.
Once you have an idea of what you need you can look for a photographer. Is there work any good? What are their rates? and... What are they like to work with? These are good questions to ask and hopefully our website answers these questions. Our commercial photography rates provide you with the answer to one of these questions. Our Commercial Photography Journal provides a good guide to the work we produce on a regular bases.
After you identified a photographer, you can get in touch and discuss your requirements. They will able to provide advice and help you plan for the shoot. An experienced commercial photographer will know what works well, how to cope with the challenges of the location and be able produce and impactful images, with high production values that tell a story.
